Please do. Our primary URL, and the one that we prefer that links be made to, is http://pressedfur.topcities.com/
An article must mention furry fandom either directly, or by reference. If the article itself doesn't clearly show a relationship to the furry fandom, its related links should, or it should be about people who are well-known furries. We've rejected a number of articles on topics such as zoophilia and plushophilia because they didn't mention furry fandom. In many ways we feel this is more fair than how some link and news sites have depicted furry as fully encompassing those groups. Considering how bad furry's reputation is, we feel there's no need to add insult to injury by being overly inclusive about what we associate with it, even if some self-proclaimed furry fans seem to feel differently.
No. We're not trying to start another movement or "club," inside or outside the fandom. There will be no Pressed Fur tee shirts, no zine, no art archive, and no one wearing Pressed Fur buttons. We're merely trying to serve as an information source. What you see on this website is all there is to Pressed Fur.
There are several reasons, really.
One is that furries have a long history of "shooting the messenger." Making others aware of bad news is often seen to be as bad as being the cause of it. We have no desire to become targets of others' flamewars and info-terrorism.
We're also not interested in becoming political demogogues. Once a face is attached to material of this kind, it stops being information and starts becoming one person's political stand. We feel it's best to let people consider this material on its own merits. We don't alter anything we link to, and we keep our editorializations away from the actual articles.
Finally, the fact is we don't want the term "furry" applied to us. We have made a personal choice to not associate ourselves with the fandom. Read the site, and then decide if you'd like to consider that choice yourself.
